The Minimal Schoolday Face

The Minimal Schoolday FaceIn a school environment I don’t feel comfortable wearing a lot of makeup. The result is that I’ve fallen into a routine for a minimal makeup look that still makes me look awake and not all disheveled from getting up at 6am.

After a freshly cleansed and moisture face, I will apply my Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer under my eyes and on any areas that need concealer. I find that is product is moisturizing enough under my eyes but also conceals my blemishes really well. This is a great concealer but it also doubles as a great highlighter and brightener. It reflects light which allows me to cover discoloration without using too much and getting a “caked on” look.

Next I will set all the concealer and make sure that it  stays in place with the tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation. This product is super pigmented and just gives me that extra coverage and because it is a powder, help keeps the shine at bay which is great for someone with oily skin, like me. Using a fluffy brush it gives a nice airbrushed type of finish.

I’ve been going for a bit of Anastasia in my brows with their Brow Wiz. The color options are really natural and compliment all sorts of hair colors. This product allows me to not make my eye brows look so dark while still giving them shape. The fine applicator allows for a precise application and natural, defined look.  It is also super easy to use for beginners who aren’t wanting to go overboard and is very forgiving.

To make my eyes pop, recently I have been using the Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Curling & Lifting Mascara. This mascara is a real game changer. No clumps and smudging and it lasts all day. It lengthens your lashes, while curving them beautifully. The mascara goes on great to get a lovely daytime look with one application. My lashes are all covered, but not too thick – really gives that wide-eyed look.

For my lips I usually start with lip balm, but eventually I like to put on something that will enhance my lips like the Kat Von D Ever Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Lovesick. I think it has the same shade as my natural lips, only prettier and more intense. This does not smudge, does not transfer and feels non-drying but not grossly moisturizing. The shade and formula looks very natural and makes all your features just look better and healthier, so I even like wearing this alone without any other makeup.

  1. Oooh, do you recommend the NARS concealer? I’ve heard such great things about it, but it’s SOOO pricey! But totally willing to buy it if it’s everything and more that people say! I also love that Benefit mascara!

My school makeup is usually just concealer (I’ve been using Benefit Bo-oing) and mascara! And sometimes a powder to set my concealer but the Benefit one is pretty drying/matte enough!

    1. I would totally recommend that concealer! Alternatively if you want a cheaper option, the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer is a great one as well. You can find it at your local drugstore. Thanks for reading. xo

      1. No problem! Ahhh I love the Maybelline Fit Me, but they don’t have a perfect color match for me. I have to mix two, which is still cheaper than NARS, but is such a hassle on the go. NARS has a bigger color selection so I might make just take the leap and pick it up! D: buy buy money

  2. This is almost exactly what I do everyday. That concealer sounds amazing, and exactly what I need. Definitely going to try it out!
