My style in 5

Here is a simple tag composed of five questions about style:

1. Who are your style icons?
I get most of my style inspiration from blogs, Instagram and Pinterest but if I had to choose a person, I would go for Rosie Huntington. I really love her use of basics and how put together she always looks.

2. What is your best style advice or tip?
Be yourself! Style isn’t just about the clothes you wear but it’s also a reflection of your personality and attitude.

3. What was your style like as a teen?
I lived for basics and still do. I bought things that were very versatile so that I could mix and match. I found that it was also fun to use the same pieces to create new looks.

4. What type of outfit do you wear the most?
This is easy! A pair of jeans with a t-shirt and sneakers, flats or ankle boots.

5. Who is your favorite designer?
Of course, I couldn’t just pick between one so i’ll have to say Zuhair Murad and Elie Saab. The pieces of both designers are so elegant and timeless. They’re really stunning!

How would you describe your style in one word?

The Fashion & Beauty Items That Make Me Feel Like Myself

We all have those items that make you truly feel like yourself. I thought today I would share the fashion and beauty items that always make me feel like myself, no matter what.

Basic T-shirts
I obsess over proper fitting t-shirts and my favorites are from the brand Everlane. The most basic of all staple items in my wardrobe, a t-shirt, when properly cut, works as good as any garment. I like to play up basic tees with jewelry.

Dainty Necklace
The Dogeared Karma necklace is a simple reminder to keep your own circle peaceful and loving. One of the most comfortable, and powerful necklaces, this necklace conveys the message of what comes around goes around.

Pressed Powder
I have oily skin, so the Mac Mineralized Skin Finish powder is a must. This doesn’t dry out my face and sets my makeup. It’s matte, lightweight and works well to just go over concealer. It looks very natural and you can build it up without getting cakey. Definitely worth the price.

Pink Lip
I like to wear lip products that enhance my natural lip color. My favorite product to do that with is Covergirl’s Colorlicious in Berrylicious lipgloss.

Dusty Pink Nail Polish
My favorite is the Nails Inc Victoria Beckham Bamboo White polish. It’s a beautiful light pink that’s not too milky nor too pink it’s just perfect. On the nails it is stunningly beautiful, solid, chip resistant and fashionable!

Ballet Flats
My favorites lately have been the Halogen ‘Olson’ Pointy Toe Studded T-strap Flats. These are very chic and make the finishing touch to any outfit. It is versatile enough to go from casual to dressy in a snap.

My favorite scent to drown myself in is Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black and White. Nirvana Black is an addictive blend of alluring violet, sensual sandalwood, and rich vanilla that strike the perfect balance between masculine and feminine. Nirvana White is a captivating blend of delicate peony, chic muguet, and tender musk for a feminine scent with dark sophistication. I wear them both interchangeably.

Michael Kors Kempton Medium Pocket Tote Handbag is my favorite because it hold everything I need. Since it isn’t that big it also keeps me from over-packing.

Too Faced Absolutely Invisible Candlelight Powder is a multitasking translucent powder infused with illuminating gold powder. I use this product as a highlight on my cheekbones and it works pretty well if you build it. It’s very subtle, but I love it because it gives my face a more golden glow versus a more pink highlight that can make you look glittery.

What are your staples?

How To Be Your Own Daily Stylist

I love the process of getting dressed, but sometimes I just don’t have the time to stand in front of my closet for hours. Therefore, I have some tips that I like to keep in mind when I am getting dressed, so today I wanted to share with you how to be your own stylist and make the most out of your wardrobe.

► Have go-to outfits on hand.
This will make getting dressed so much easier because these are the outfits that you know will always look good on you, without fail. They are the ensembles you wear time and time again because you know they will always work for you.

Invest in good basics.
Ideally, these are the pieces that you will keep and wear no matter what the season. Therefore, they should be of fairly good quality to withstand wear and tear. These pieces can include dark skinny jeans, a white button-down shirt, a tailored raincoat, and a great leather jacket.

Start with a neutral palette.
Black, white, navy, cream, and add one piece in a pattern or bold color. The neutral shades in your color palette are supposed to support and balance out your main and accent colors.

Don’t worry about trends.
Fashion is meant to be fun, don’t feel like you have to follow it exactly. Wear what you like and what goes with your individual style.

Draw inspiration from your favorite looks.
When you see a look you like, snap a picture of it, and tape it to the inside of your closet door. These looks can be just what you need when you have say, five minutes to get ready.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post. Remember to take these tips with you to your closet when thinking of what to wear to look your absolute best!
