How to have the best Sunday ever

I love Sundays. It is my sacred day to get the most me-time, pamper, relax and plan for the coming week in order to ensure I start Monday off with a smile on my face!

Healthy Breakfasts

Over the weekend, you might have overindulged, so for a Sunday morning, go with something like a smoothie bowl, eggs or avocado toast. It will give you that energy and ultimate relaxation for you to look and feel great.

Preparation is key

Plan your lunches or outfits for the week ahead, or write a to-do list for the week. It’s far easier to shut down when you know the important things are taken care of. If you leave it until the evening, you’ll end up stressing yourself out and sacrificing sleep in order to get it done.

Pamper your skin

Since fitting a mask in mid week is not the easiest thing, I’ve reserved my Sunday evening for a face mask. Take a look at the condition of your skin and use a mask to fits your needs. I’ve found that my favorite for clearing out my pores is the Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment.

Take a bath

The bath is the ultimate relaxing location and the addition of scented oils can really help you unwind. I like to mix a bit of Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy Body Wash & Foam Bath in Sandalwood Rose with my water to transform my place into a personal spa.

Catch up on shows

Spend a few hours of your Sunday completely switching off by watching your favorite TV series. Limit access to your phone, emails or anything that could stress you out.

Stretch yourself
Despite any strenuous exercise being off limits according to the rules of Sundays, some light yoga and stretching can help you drift off into a deeper sleep.

10 Ways to simplify your life

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed with school, work, and life, however, by simplifying and staying organized you can change that.

01 | Clean as you go
If you do things like cleaning your dishes right after you’ve used them or making your bed right after you get up, you won’t have to spend a lot of time constantly cleaning.

02 | Unsubscribe
I have a habit of subscribing to blogs and websites at first glance, but in reality barely read any of them. I have recently unsubscribed from a whole bunch and now my inbox is much neater and nicer to browse through.

03 | De-clutter
Get rid of things you don’t love, use, or have excess of. I love doing this with clothes, makeup, and books.

04 | Write down your daily goals
By writing down goals like finishing that book, or going to the gym, or organizing your bathroom, you know what you want to accomplish that day and will be in the right mindset and won’t have any space for distractions.

05 | Establish routines
The key to keeping your life simple is to create simple routines at the start and end of your day. A stressful morning can led to a stressful rest of the day so by creating a morning routine, for example, you give more time to do things like put together your to-do list, prepare lunch, and get ready for the day.

06 | Clean up your computer
Decluttering is also important when it comes to your digital life. Delete any tabs you don’t use and documents you don’t need.

07 | Plan your day ahead
Know what to expect, plan ahead, and you will find time to do everything. Write to-do lists and set small goals.

08 | Spend time alone
Alone time is good, extremely calming, and necessary for finding out what’s important to you.

09 | Be flexible
Leave a little space between things you need to do so you have room for mishaps, and you’ll go through your day much more relaxed.

10 | Single-task
Multi-tasking is more complicated, stressful, and generally less productive.

3 Things You Need To Do This Summer To Improve Your Life

Summer is here! And what better time than now to…

#1 Run

Running is definitely a great exercise choice. If you do it right it doesn’t even feel like working out and it can help you clear your mind and boost your blood flow, reducing your chances of heart disease and other health problems.

#2 Surround yourself with plants

There’s no denying bringing the green indoors can be healthy for the body, as well as the mind. Plants are pleasant to look at, have stress reducing effects on people, and help to maintain good health.

#3 Track your water intake

Regularly tracking your water levels to ensure you are drinking enough can help you lose weight and made your skin plump, full and glowing. It is important to keep a glass with you and try to drink 8 a day.

Let’s face it a cupcake will always taste better than a salad. Nothing is wrong with treating yourself from time to time! Don’t feel guilty about it.

10 Things to do while Spring is still here

As the last days of spring is approaching, why not take advantage of the warm weather and cool breeze? I have put together a list of 10 things to lose yourself in this spring. Enjoy!

01 | Grow something you can eat.
Whether it be basil, rosemary, or herbs. If growing something something from a seed is too much, then buy a plant and water it and nurture it.

02 | Pick flowers.
Walk through your neighborhood or a local park and see how many shapes and colors of flowers you can collect. Don’t forget to stop and smell them, of course.

03 | Wash the car together.
While this may seem like a chore, it does not have to be. Spray each other with the hose (a must) and scrub along to your favorite songs.

04 | Go to a farmer’s market.
Take advantage of the comfortable morning temperatures and see what local farmers are offering. It might give you inspiration for new, fresh meals.

05 | Make a fruity dessert.
Skip the heavy desserts and opt for something fresh. Try pairing fresh fruit with whipped cream, ice cream, or yogurt.

06 | Have a picnic.
Gather some friends, pack some light meals, and chill out on a checkered blanket under the sun.

07 | Take a weekend trip.
You may be busy during the week, but the weekend is the perfect time for a trip. Pick a place you’ve always wanted to visit, grab your friends and hit the road.

08 | Ride a bike.
Instead of traveling by car, grab your bike and enjoy the weather. This is a great way for you to get your exercise in.

09 | Go for a hike.
In a day and age where technology can provide much entertainment, it is easy to forget the joy that the outdoor brings. If you live near some trails, start with short, easy routes and build up to longer hikes.

10 | Improve your photography skills.
Take advantage of the sunrise now that the days are getting longer. Spring landscapes are colorful and the new spring growth looks great against a blue sky.

The Minimal Schoolday Face

The Minimal Schoolday FaceIn a school environment I don’t feel comfortable wearing a lot of makeup. The result is that I’ve fallen into a routine for a minimal makeup look that still makes me look awake and not all disheveled from getting up at 6am.

After a freshly cleansed and moisture face, I will apply my Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer under my eyes and on any areas that need concealer. I find that is product is moisturizing enough under my eyes but also conceals my blemishes really well. This is a great concealer but it also doubles as a great highlighter and brightener. It reflects light which allows me to cover discoloration without using too much and getting a “caked on” look.

Next I will set all the concealer and make sure that it  stays in place with the tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation. This product is super pigmented and just gives me that extra coverage and because it is a powder, help keeps the shine at bay which is great for someone with oily skin, like me. Using a fluffy brush it gives a nice airbrushed type of finish.

I’ve been going for a bit of Anastasia in my brows with their Brow Wiz. The color options are really natural and compliment all sorts of hair colors. This product allows me to not make my eye brows look so dark while still giving them shape. The fine applicator allows for a precise application and natural, defined look.  It is also super easy to use for beginners who aren’t wanting to go overboard and is very forgiving.

To make my eyes pop, recently I have been using the Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Curling & Lifting Mascara. This mascara is a real game changer. No clumps and smudging and it lasts all day. It lengthens your lashes, while curving them beautifully. The mascara goes on great to get a lovely daytime look with one application. My lashes are all covered, but not too thick – really gives that wide-eyed look.

For my lips I usually start with lip balm, but eventually I like to put on something that will enhance my lips like the Kat Von D Ever Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Lovesick. I think it has the same shade as my natural lips, only prettier and more intense. This does not smudge, does not transfer and feels non-drying but not grossly moisturizing. The shade and formula looks very natural and makes all your features just look better and healthier, so I even like wearing this alone without any other makeup.

The Beauty Blogger Tag

1. Why did you start blogging and how long have you been blogging for?
I actually started blogging because of a school project. The objective of the project was to do something that would get us out of our comfort zones, and so I thought blogging would be a really great way to come out of my shell and interact with people not just around me but around the world as well. I started blogging April of 2014, so I have been blogging for about a year and a half; more or less.

2. Whose blog did you fall in love with first?
The first blog I fell in love with and got me inspired was MakeupbyTiffanyD. I like how she incorporates makeup, fashion, home decor, and food so it truly is “One girl’s thoughts on all things beauty.”

3. What was the first blogsphere hyped about product that you bought? Was it worth the hype?
The first product I brought per the hype of beauty bloggers was the Original Naked Palette and boy am I glad I did. This palette first released about 6 years ago, and though I’ve had it for only about a year I still reach for it everyday. It’s so versatile and you can never have too much neutrals, at least in my opinion.

4. What are your five favorite things about blogging and being a beauty blogger?
► This little space on the internet gives me the chance to express myself and I feel like I’m satisfying my creative side.
► I’d been inspired by other bloggers and their passion for beauty, which meant that I’ve picked up products I wouldn’t have ordinarily.
► One thing that I’ve found absolutely incredible is the ability to network with other fellow bloggers and companies.
► My favorite things about blogging is the community. I’ve been able to meet some fantastic people who are like-minded and enjoy similar things to myself.
► The blogging community has made it possible for me to meet some wonderful people who I would absolutely consider friends.

5. What have you learnt from being a beauty blogger?
Comparing kills. Focus on what you do well and improve on that. Do not compare your 1 year old blog to one that has been up 5 years and counting. Everybody starts somewhere and growth takes time, it’s not an overnight happening.

6. Have you changed anything since becoming a beauty blogger?
Since I am constantly trying out new makeup, I really have to be conscious of my skin. I am always amending my skincare routine to meet what my skin needs. Now that I am wearing makeup I have to devote attention to being aware of the ingredients that I put on my face.

7. Is there any advice that you would give beauty bloggers just starting out?
Come up with a catchy domain name for your blog. A domain name builds your brand. There are a lot of elements that go into finding the perfect domain name. Get creative and remember that the domain you pick today doesn’t have to be the one you stick with forever. It’s all a part of an ongoing branding effort that you may change and adjust along the way.

8. What are your top five makeup brands?
►Sephora: This beauty-retail features many brands, old and new, and across many product categories.
► MAC: This company combines both trends and timeless beauty.
► Nars: Not only are their beauty products amazing, I especially love their minimal design icon.
► Urban Decay: This brand is “beauty with an edge”. Perfect for those who like to express their individuality.
► Tarte: Their chic packaging combined with their skin invigorating products make them the leader of eco-chic beauty.

9. Recommend your top five beauty products?
Original Urban Decay Naked palette: I love this and find a reason to use it everyday.
► MAC ‘Mineralize’ Skinfinish Natural: My go-to touch up powder.
Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment Mask: I love using this after a bad breakout because it really draws out the impurities to reveal newer looking skin.
► St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub: I use this everyday and it really helps to increase cell turnover.
Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter Body Butter: I love using this is the winter months because it is super hydrating and smells heavenly.

And that completes the tag! I hope you guys enjoyed it and I tag you guys to do it as well. If you do, leave your link of it in the comments so I can check it out.
